Employer Responsibilities

The employer must assume certain responsibilities when hiring an immigrant worker. These include:

• Adhering to the Canadian Labour Standards Code, including ensuring that the right documentation is obtained by the newcomer during the hiring process. 

• Following the same Workplace Health and Safety regulations, HR practices, and general employment standards as you would for any other employee.
   
• Making sure your new employee feels welcomed to the organization upon joining your team.
